Always an Artist

It is interesting to note the unique subject matter that begs the attention of an artist in an unfamiliar setting. I found that the artist, residing in each of the delegates, sprouted within their own photographs.  Photographs that depict the subtle shades of dusk or capture the repetition of line found among the rafters or flag poles. Artists tend to notice inane details. They appreciate a deviation from the ordinary. Amidst the majestic, ancient buildings of Cuba, an artist is beckoned to a fragile shade of blue found in a piece of sea glass waiting to be upturned in the rising ocean tide. This is what makes the photos taken by the delegates unique and why I am sharing them with you. As much as we were there to conduct research as art educators, our inner artist accompanied every journey discovering the beauty of Cuba along the way.

Deborah Kippley, a fellow delegate, has organized her photos according to themes. Some of the photos were taken by other delegates. She published them on a website: Papillion La Vista Arts Network. This is a great site in and of itself.
