On my last day in Cuba as I waited for our bus ride, in the lobby of our hotel, I met an American student from Harvard University. She was in Cuba for a semester to study Sociology at the University of Havana. Once a week she came to the hotel to e-mail family using internet service provided by the hotel. A reminder that the average Cuban does not have access to internet. The interview gives a glimpse into the differences between higher education in Cuba vs that in the United States. I was particularly interested in her explanation of the Marxist influence. A remarkable young lady, I must say!
